Although life can bring wonderful things, we also experience stress, challenges, and difficult emotions. Individual therapy provides a private and safe space to process and build insight from our challenges, as well as learn new skills to utilize as new stressors arise. Therapy with children and teens often involves parent engagement in different capacities.
Sharing and learning within a group can feel vulnerable at the start. I find that many people end up flourishing and enjoying therapy in this setting. The added aspect of peer validation and feeling that you are not alone in what you are experiecing is invaluable. Group therapy also allows you to practice skills in a setting that feels safe and supportive. Click here to learn more.
Parenting is the easiest thing in the world to have an opinion about, but the hardest thing in the world to do.

I provide parenting support sessions for families with young children to help manage big emotions and behavioral problems. Parenting is a hard job that you never get to step away from.
I am currently providing video and telephone services, which allows me to see you if you live anywhere within California or Nevada. Telepsychology makes it convenient to find time during your busy day before work, during a lunch break or between meetings.
If you are wondering if virtual services will be helpful for your child, as they did not enjoy virtual school, I keep it very interactive, using visuals and activities. It is also only 50 minutes where they are interacting back and forth with me, rather than an entire day where they are expected to focus, listen to lectures, and keep up on independent learning. It can also help families who need to be seen between afterschool activities or before or after dinner. Let's talk more about how this may work for your child.

The stressors from our jobs and families, worries about our loved ones, pressure to perform our best, or discomfort in engaging socially can make it hard to get through the day. Anxiety can be debilitating. I have a passion in helping my clients reduce their anxiety and learn to feel more in control. I utilize therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectial Behavioral Therapy (DBT) that combine skills, mindfulness, and insight to help you feel more in control of your anxiety.
For those struggling with OCD, it can often feel like you're not fully in control of your life. The persistent distress from intrusive thoughts can lead to repetitive actions or mental rituals that disrupt many areas of daily living. By externalizing OCD, you can better recognize that these demands are not you, which can enhance the effectiveness of treatment. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you reclaim control and improve your quality of life.
I specialize in working with children and teens. I take an approach that everyone can use therapy to learn skills to manage our emotions and mental health, just like we learn about our bodies and our physical health. This helps to normalize and create a safe place for kids to open up and learn tools to better manage their emotions and behaviors, instead of feeling that something is wrong with them or they are in trouble.
Sports and other performance can bring a lot of joy and excitment, helps kids build connections and skills, and learn important values. It can also bring up anxiety and pressure to perform perfectly that can begin to impact other areas of their lives. Learning tools to better manage these pressures can help kids perform better in and outside of their sport.
For young kids, ages 0-5, I typically work with you, their parents. I provide you with the tools to help them learn about their emotions and what to do when big emotions take over, as well as helping you manage difficult behaviors. Being a parent is so hard and our kids don’t come with a manual. If you have more than one child, you likely have also experienced that how you parent one child doesn’t always work with the other. We can work together to try different tools to see what helps you and your child.
At this time, I do not accept payment through insurance.
Many insurance providers reimburse for services provided by out-of-network providers. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider about their policy. If your insurance does provide reimbursement, I can provide you with documentation you can submit to your insurance provider.
At this time, all of my services provided are virtual, through HIPAA Compliant, confidential video.
Telepsychology refers to providing psychotherapy services remotely using telecommunications technologies, such as video conferencing or telephone. One of the benefits of telepsychology is that the client and clinician can engage in services without being in the same physical location which can be more convenient.
I have found much success in providing services in this manner with children and adults. Especially for children, utilizing screen sharing has helped to provide them with visual content to keep them engaged and help them learn the skills and tools being discussed. This, along with my approach to treatment, has allowed for successful treatment sessions. If after working together we feel that face-to-face services would benefit you more, I will provide you with resources to seek out a therapist who provides in person services.
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
